November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month
November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month. In honor and memory of Steven Bard (our founder, father and husband), Display Fake Foods will be donating 10% of all November sales, to Dr. Peter Hoseins’ research program for pancreatic cancer at the University of Miami Health System. Dr. Hosein was Steven’s oncologist and took very good care of him, trying many treatments and options to help save Steven. It will be four years in January that Steven lost his battle with cancer. He is sorely missed but the memories and marks he made in his life are strong and lasting.
The trust we had in Dr. Hosein was very helpful during those difficult days. It is my wish that a treatment or better way for early detection for this very difficult cancer will be found soon; I am hoping our donations can be our way to try and help with this.
Creating new foods for Display Fake Foods was one of Stevens’ strongest passions and pleasures in his life. Whenever we were out locally, or traveling, Steven would find inspiration in the foods he saw, filling his phone with pictures of food to try to recreate. It is very important to us here, at Display Fake Foods, to keep building up the business and creating new items for Steven.
If you were lucky enough to be one of the people to speak to Steven over the years, he would often find out where you were from, the conversation could turn to if there was a good Sushi Bar in your area that he ate at, all the places he lived, the colleges he went to or what concert he just saw. That one conversation asking about a slice of pizza turned into a half hour friendly chat.
Join us in celebrating Steven’s life and the fight against Pancreatic Cancer.
Thank you,
Linda Bard
