About Us
DisplayFakeFoods has roots that go back further than fake food. The story begins in 1953 with the founding of Lou Ehrlich Inc. in New York, a company built on selling high end fireplace tools and screens. Lou's son-in-law Larry Bard joined the business and helped grow it into Brasscrafters Inc., expanding its offerings to include brass giftware and accessories alongside its fireplace roots. By the mid-1980s, Larry's sons Steven and Richard had joined the family business, and as design trends shifted toward new finishes and materials, the company evolved once more, taking on the name Bard International. From there, the family's eye for craft and quality led them in a bold new direction, and a move to Florida brought the world of replica food props and display pieces into focus. The company grew through that journey, evolving from its roots as Humphrey's Farm into the brand the world knows today as DisplayFakeFoods.
That pivot turned out to be a perfect fit. The same dedication to detail that defined those early days translated beautifully into crafting food props that stop people in their tracks. Our team of skilled artisans brings genuine craft to every piece they create, obsessing over textures, colors, and finishes until each item looks good enough to eat. It's not a factory floor mentality but a workshop one, and you can feel the difference in every order.
Today, DisplayFakeFoods is led by Linda Bard, honoring the legacy that her husband Steven and his father Larry built from the ground up. That family pride carries through everything we do, from the care our artisans put into each piece to the personal attention we bring to every order. With a dedicated team and a catalog spanning hundreds of realistic food props, we're proud to serve customers ranging from home decorators and restaurant owners to film productions, major retailers, dedicated pranksters, and anyone who simply appreciates the art of a perfectly crafted fake. However you found us, we're glad you're here, and we're confident you'll find exactly what you're looking for.
